PAINFUL PORTRAIT , 2013
53 x 35 x 2 cm (h x w x d)
METAL PINS AND CHARCOAL WAX

Sometimes there is so much pain and sadness in someone's life that they can only imagine happiness. Their entire life is just suffering. As a painter, my sensitive mind is also affected by the pain of others. Seeing people in such distress makes me remember their suffering and creates stress within me. These pains are truly piercing. To convey this piercing pain and suffering, I used metal staples. The act of stapling is somewhat violent; we puncture the surface, and that is why, to show the pain in human life, I created this painful portrait using staples. I apply the staples to the surface according to the design and features of the unique portrait... and that is how I gave it the title 'Painful Portrait' as it creates tension in the observer.
