Abraham Lincoln
10 x 8 in (h x w)
325 USD
scratchboard

This is actually the second piece I did of Lincoln but a different image than the first. He was the finest and most inspirational leader that ever served the nation. This particular piece was inspired by a Smithsonian archived photo of the President. I used a couple of techniques here. I used a scalpel for cross hatching in various directions. Fine grit sandpaper allowed me to give the piece a rough edge to it. I wanted to capture his state of exhaustion by the time this photo was taken.
