This is my second piece on King. The first depicted him looking up and to the side. It was a beautiful piece that sold to a family in NY. I really like the dark shadows of this one though. I used a scalpel and tattoo needle to get a smooth appearance. I then used a brush and a little water to spread the black ink residue around the image. This gave it the dramatic darkness I wanted on this piece. I used a stippling technique on the first King piece, which gave it a brighter image. I actually like this second piece much more.
