Situation
The Future of Work participant immigrated to Canada from Pakistan in 2018. They were a practicing dentist in Pakistan and also had a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management. The participant was keen on remaining in healthcare and was struggling to advance in their career with no Canadian work experience.
Future of Work Coaching
Through the process of discovery using different career assessment tools, the Future of Work participant’s goal was to find employment in healthcare. They also wanted to explore upskilling - developing technical skills to pivot into data analysis/project management. Following this, the participant was connected to Elevate, where they completed a 3-month course in Data Analytics and Visualization, and the “10,000 Chais” platform where the participant was able to connect with employers by networking and building relationships.
Outcome: The participant commenced their first Canadian position in the healthcare field, a 3-month remote work contract as a project consultant (work related to innovation in healthcare service delivery). This contract has been extended with a very good possibility of a full-time position. This position was not advertised on popular job sites but the participant was able to learn about it from a connection during a “chai” chat.

The Future of Work participant indicates “I was fortunate to get connected with a Future of Work Coach, during an incredibly transformative time as I pivot careers. She took me through the career exploration phase using personality and passion assessments. She provided insightful guidance towards career options that I had never explored. Our conversations gave me the clarity to identify and take meaningful actions toward sourcing and subsequently landing my dream job. Transitioning to a new career can be very challenging. The Future of Work coach with her invaluable expertise in career counselling not only empowered me with tools and resources to find my passion. She also worked with me in pursuit of an alternative career that was the best fit for me. I appreciate her support and motivation and would highly recommend working with Future of Work.”

Situation
Le participant au programme L'avenir du Travail a immigré au Canada du Pakistan en 2018. Il était dentiste au Pakistan et possédait également une maîtrise en gestion des soins de santé. Le participant tenait à rester dans le domaine des soins de santé et avait du mal à progresser dans sa carrière sans expérience professionnelle canadienne.
Coaching sur l'avenir du travail
Grâce au processus de découverte utilisant différents outils d'évaluation de carrière, l'objectif du participant au L'avenir du Travail était de trouver un emploi dans le secteur des soins de santé. Il souhaitait également explorer la possibilité de se perfectionner, c'est-à-dire d'acquérir des compétences techniques pour se tourner vers l'analyse de données et la gestion de projets. Par la suite, le participant a été mis en relation avec Elevate, où il a suivi un cours de trois mois sur l'analyse et la visualisation des données, et avec la plateforme "10 000 Chais", où le participant a pu entrer en contact avec des employeurs en créant des réseaux et en établissant des relations.
Résultat : Le participant a commencé son premier poste canadien dans le domaine de la santé, un contrat de travail à distance de 3 mois en tant que consultant de projet (travail lié à l'innovation dans la prestation de services de santé). Ce contrat a été prolongé avec une très bonne possibilité d'un poste à temps plein. Ce poste n'était pas annoncé sur les sites d'emploi populaires, mais le participant a pu en apprendre l'existence par l'intermédiaire d'un contact lors d'une discussion "chai".

Le participant à L'avenir du Travail indique : "J'ai eu la chance d'être mis en contact avec un coach de Future of Work, à un moment incroyablement transformateur de mon changement de carrière. Elle m'a fait passer par la phase d'exploration de carrière en utilisant des évaluations de la personnalité et des passions.
