In the audio, Abdul Aziz Hassanpur shares his thoughts about his voyage and transition. “Moving and settling in a new country without family and friends to provide support is very challenging. I am one of the lucky individuals who had the support of my family, friends and the institutions. Upon arrival, an FRI team member reached out and visited me at my home. He assessed my residence, helped my family and I to obtain our health cards and provided assistance to help us settle. During the lockdown, they ensured we had all the necessities, and also helped us in booking doctor’s appointments.” Abdul Aziz hopes that the institutions continue to provide support to newcomers. The institution’s support has provided him with a strong foundation that will help him to establish a better future for his children.

"Déménager et s'installer dans un nouveau pays sans famille ni amis pour nous soutenir serait très difficile. Je fais partie des personnes chanceuses qui ont eu le soutien de ma famille, de mes amis et des institutions. Dès mon arrivée, un membre de l'équipe FRI m'a contacté et m'a rendu visite à mon domicile. Il a évalué ma résidence, nous a aidés, ma famille et moi, à obtenir nos cartes d'assurance maladie et à nous installer. Pendant le confinement, ils ont veillé à ce que nous ayons tous les produits nécessaire, et ils nous ont également aidés à prendre des rendez-vous chez le médecin." Abdul Aziz espère que les institutions continueront à apporter leur soutien aux nouveaux arrivants. Le soutien de l'institution lui a donné une base solide qui l'aidera à établir un meilleur avenir pour ses enfants.
