J. Paul is an artist set free from the daily struggles of life. He began late in life, coming from a background in Public Health and defending children & young people's lives here in the UK, USA and Europe. The Art flowed when the cracks appeared... Paul and his wife were bringing up their adopted son, who'd had the very, very worst of starts in life. The pressures increased after Autism diagnosis, expulsion, court challenges and fees. To find solace, Paul had fond memories of a trip as a child to the Natural History Museum and the excitement of bringing home a package of 30 crystals. Family and friends through the turmoil sent 'adult colouring books' as a means to relax. Not one for doing things in a small way instead Paul decided to try to use crystals/semi-precious stones to make a piece of art. After 4 years and 20kg's of Crystals, his first piece was complete - The Tree of Life. Everyone was wowed, calls for it to be displayed, give others the joy of the art propelled Paul to start Crystal Art Wright. Still working within Public Health, and now with a teen son on a much improved path, through COVID and the stresses of working as a Public Health Consultant, Paul continued to create pieces, with a recent Ukrainian Sunflower piece selling at a charity auction for the people of Ukraine. Each piece is composed of thousands of individually glued crystal or semi-precious stone... and are utterly unique.
