The long-lived oak supports more life than any other North American tree & the leaves come in many unique shapes. Selecting each 'recycled' designer sample fabric piece, hand-cutting to the shape of each leaf choosing texture, color & fabric brings me peace. The restrictions of using a small piece of fabric that cannot be replaced yet would have ended up in the trash I find balance between letting go and holding on. Both machine & hand work fulfill different aspects of my creativity.
