Pumpkins on the Patio , 2019
10 x 10 in (h x w)
Oil paint on reclaimed wooden panel

Artists Statement: I have worn many hats in my life, but currently I am working as a mother, farmer, and artist. Whenever I don't have a pencil or a paintbrush in my hand I can usually be found hiking with my children, weeding the garden, or rounding up goats or chickens who interpret the term ‘free range’ too literally. I lean heavily toward agricultural themes; local landscapes, still lifes from the garden or the orchard, my kids, and my neighbor’s Jersey cows. Occasionally a Border Collie sneaks into my paintings. I’m not always sure what’s going to show up on the canvas when I pick up a brush! I have been commissioned to do quite a few 'home portraits' of both contemporary and historic homes, including Terra Angelica and Evergreen Estates. It is a blessing to be able to live and work in Allegany County.

Artist description: Two pumpkins sitting on a low stone wall bordering an herb garden. Beyond the garden is a view of Will’s Mountain, with a bright, clear autumn sky.
