Lettie of Walnut Ridge , 2022
12.5 x 15.5 in (h x w)
Watercolor

Artist Statement: Visual art and various crafts have always been one of my strengths and favorite pastimes. Finally, after retirement as a K -12 art teacher/special education instructor, and earlier career as an AMS certified Montessori pre-primary directress and school director; I found and embraced the ever challenging medium of transparent watercolor, and occasionally create colored pencil paintings. Through these mediums I have been able to give visual form to my feelings, beliefs, knowledge and past experiences.

I am drawn to the souls of old abandoned buildings and other architectural structures that may interest me in some fashion. I also paint still life, florals and occasional landscapes. I feel blessed to be able to experience the joy and passion (and sometimes frustration) to press on, striving to continually improve the quality of my visual art making

Artist description: I am drawn to faces, figures and animals that have personal meaning to me.
