This year in Studio Arts, I have explored the theme of Dissociation. Dissociation is an experience felt by many around the world and involves a feeling of disconnectedness with one’s thoughts, emotions, surroundings, and overall identity. I have focused on my own personal experience with dissociation, which I believe to be the feeling of separation between oneself and the body they are trapped in. Dissociation to me is a sinister void of emotions that has kept me up at night, haunted my every day, and controlled me by removing my connection from both myself and the environment I am in.
