Highland Clearances , 2022
75 x 100 x 0.3 cm (h x w x d)

Inspired by John Prebble’s ‘The Highland Clearances’ and my highland roots. The waste bin in the atypical Scottish landscape echoes the story of the cruel enforced exile of highlanders from their land. Their tortuous uncertain journey is reflected in the snaking path, but I found a portent in the flock of birds; maybe some found postexilic freedom and joy.
