Rorschach Vertebrae , 2022
3D printed PLA, 3D printed resin, plaster, stoneware ceramics, glaze, timber, steel rod

The Rorschach test is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analysed. Psychologists used this test to examine a person's personality characteristics and emotional functioning.

Rorschach Vertebrae explores the dependency of humans. More specifically, the human condition of fragility and dependency as individuals age through life from an infant to an aged body. I focussed my BoW on the central support system that is the human spine. Our brains send signals through the spinal cord to tell them to move. In turn, our body communicates via the spinal cord to tell the brain what they touch and feel. It also has reflexes that protect our bodies from harm, the strong connection from the spine to the mind is where the Rorschach concept is incorporated. My BoW is an interpretation of the human spine, mimicking its natural form.
