I had the good fortune to visit my childhood home in South Dakota days before it was to be torn down. My family built a new home in 1953 and this little house was moved to a nearby farm where it continued to be home to neighbors for 65 more years. The little roof over the door was the one detail that reminded me of "home" and touched my heart. The back quilt shows the siding of the house as seen in our old photos. (It was such fun painting the shadows and cracked paint.)
