The Marina Bay Sands (MBS) and Gardens By The Bay are part of Singapore's famed cityscape, depicting the city as a futuristic and cosmopolitan haven. What is less well known is that the Marina Bay precinct was only recently built on land reclaimed from the sea, with MBS opening to the public just 13 years ago. It was a challenge for the artist to complete this sketch as her dog was ill then. However, when painting the Gardens, she was reminded of a passage from the bible, which says that even the trees are capable of rejoicing! It was in this moment that she found joy amidst her anxiety.
