"DESIGN NO. 1
THE TREE HAS BEEN TAKEN AS THE MAIN MOTIF BEING TRADITIONALLY A SYMBOL SUGGESTING LIFE AND GROWTH. CONTEMPORARILY IT MAY WELL MEAN PROGRESS AND PROSPERITY. THE FISH AT THE BOTTOM REPRESENT THE LIFE GIVING NUCLEUS.

THE MEDIUM IS RED BRICK TILES RAISED IN LOW RELIEF. THE SURFACE SHALL BE, AS INDICATED BY THE BRUSH WORK, UNEVEN AND TEXTURED. THIS WOULD ELIMINATE THE PLAINNESS OF THE SURFACE BESIDES GIVING THE MOTIF CHARACTER.
THE BLACK LINES ARE DETAILS OF INCISED DESIGN.
