The Sakura tree is a representation of hope. The moon is linked with my first project, gloomy weather. I wanted to represent hope and rebirth with drawing a cherry blossom. With the three layers of the flowers, I wanted them to look more realistic. As in my culture, the cherry blossom also represents death and rebirth just like the Japanese culture. I was influenced by Van Gogh, and tried to imitate his impasto technique.
