Scenarios of Breaking Down a Wall , 2014
Animation (4 minutes 7 seconds)

“‘Scenarios of Breaking Down a Wall’ depicts absurdist plots around scaling walls — physical or psychological — resulting from war. The scenarios reference overcoming constraints of the past, transculturalism, and the migration of vulnerable populations and human trafficking due to armed conflict, economic sanctions, demonstrations, and subservience. The female horse character is a postcolonial hybrid subject forged in the encounter with the British Mandate mounted military. Different architectural elements reference La Mezquita and the Synagogue of Córdoba in Spain to point to other linked histories and locations.”
