“The correlation between music and art means so much to me as an artist. They both create feelings of love, hatred, reconciliation, resignation, and most importantly, movement. In this artwork in particular, I took inspiration from the stagnant musical notes on sheet music, and wanted to portray their living, moving characteristics in the sounds of music. The same way that sound begins to move and vibrate while playing an instrument, art should move and become alive as my brush moves on the canvas. I believe this piece shows the real me in an improvised manner filled with movement, and that “what is, is.” Fernando was born in Cali, Colombia. He has been practicing art since he was ten years old. His art style consists of bright colors and original ideas intended to feelings of excitement and strength. Despite having lost one eye and partial vision in his other eye, he uses art and color to inspire himself and others. Fernando is a Project Return artist.
