Monster of the Deep , 2022

I have accumulated a lot of books in my apartment and am in need of bookends, so I decided to make a few from clay. One is a tree and another is something you might find in the deepest depths of an ocean. That ocean could very well be on an alien planet in a galaxy far, far away. Both of these curiosities are works in progress. The design is meant to appear as if the creature is attacking my books. I made it in the winter 2023 ceramics class on hand-building taught by Curtis Yu.
