I learnt to look at the subject in more depth, that observation is key, and working and re- working a piece can produce something different and unexpected, giving the artwork more depth and interest. I feel I could have gone even further on some of my pieces. I have also learnt to keep taking risks and the process is important not just the outcome, although it’s always wonderful when something unexpected and successful is produced.
