Poem

Portals, in this work, are represented as dark thresholds between life and death, and the haunting cycles of existence. The poem explores the transient and impermanent nature of life, the impact of mortality, and the importance of wisdom in understanding the deeper meaning of life's experiences. Eerie images and the mention of the speaker's grandfather shooting a hound present the darker aspects of life and death. In that way, the poem serves as a portal that transports the reader to a world without empathy.
