The Helmet of Salvation
42.5 x 29.5 cm (h x w)
Pen on paper

This colourful pen drawing illustrates three scenes encircled by decorative borders and surrounded by patterns, flowers, and flying birds in the background. The scenes appear to depict a narrative; a garden-like paradise, then the artist appears with his beloved wife Sally and a heart symbol, followed by the drawing of a house with the sun rising above it.
The artist has a love of music and is deeply devoted to the Christian Church which are themes which recur repeatedly in his richly detailed artworks.
I chose this drawing for its joyful optimism, sense of gratitude and because of the enthusiasm the artist expresses for his life and his art.
