Forgotten Body , 2023
Oil on Mirror 20x24 inch

"This art piece represents the idea of people caring too much for how others care for themselves, and how pressures from society can result in disordered eating habits. Influence that others have on one’s food choices is portrayed in the work by the three hands reaching out in front of the face, offering plates of comfort food. The headphones along with the colorful sound waves capture the
feeling of shutting out the noise from other’s words and expectations of oneself. People often feel consumed by the unrealistic pressures and standards of society, resulting in the absence of taking care of themselves. The piece’s purpose is to showcase the way decisions are often influenced by the way people treat one another and the neglect our bodies suffer from."
