Chinese New Year is the beginning of the year on the traditional lunisolar and solar Chinese calendars. Families celebrate this time of year with colorful decorations and traditional meals. In the folktale of Nian, an evil dragon who would torment villages yearly was defeated using loud bright colors and noises. 2023 is the year of the rabbit, known for its elegance, beauty and mercy. I decided to depicted the often misjudged rabbit in powerful bright reds and golds to show its strength. The people down below are the villagers who worked together to defeat Nian and are shown admiring the rabbit.k
