Road Food: Family Tree in the Bristlecone Pine Forest , 2023
80 x 64 in (h x w)
Mischetechnik
[RES164]

Novelty Lettuce and Tortilla rest in a mythical family tree in this visionary painting inspired by the Road Food performance group experience in the ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest of California. In Road Food: Survival in the Local Landscape, performance art is expressed by draping individuals in novelty food blankets bought on Amazon.com and conducting a statement of survival in relation to consumption, place, time, and humanity in rural and urban settings while traveling past artifacts of culture in the western states of America. The Road Food performances are spontaneous, happening any time of day and night, and the locations build upon a narrative of survival in a given landscape.
