"Ziqi Xu is an investigator, using printmaking to learn and reflect on the uncertainties in human experience. With an architectural background, She is interested in the in-between space. Her work questions the ambiguous boundaries of humans� inner self concerning the landscape of time, what separates us and what makes us, and which explores the fundamental question of who I am.
Ziqi�s recent series of prints, On Edge, are made during the uncertain period after graduation. Those subtle moments of suspension, confusion, and resistance were conceived during the daily repetition of printing actions after Ziqi got her first job at a printmaking editioning house. The etching plates are her own space for attacking, whispering, and reflecting these pausing moments, to question her position in this irrational world without an edge.
Ziqi recently graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 2022 with first class honours BA in Illustration. She has exhibited at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and RE International Original Print Exhibition, 2022.
