讓我握緊你的手｜Let me hold your hand
讓我緊握你的手。這張照片是某個週末在中正紀念堂前的公園拍攝的。我看到很多台灣家庭喜歡在周末聚在一起，這令我很感動。過了不久，我在這張照片中看見一幕：一個年輕的女人走在奶奶的身旁握著她的手。大約 7 年前，當我第一次飛往台灣時，我仍然記得奶奶對我說：「妳一個人過去要好好地照顧自己，我會一直為妳祈禱的。」 這句話只是一個簡單的提醒，卻是如此地深刻，因為這句話來自一個在我成長過程中照顧我的人。當我離開菲律賓的那一年，我的祖母仍然可以好好行走，並且能夠做一些簡單的家事。直到有一天，她不小心滑倒，然後骨折了。每當我看見她坐在輪椅上，或者看見家人將她從輪椅移到床上痛苦地哭泣時，我都無法止住淚水。當時，我真的很想離開台灣，只想回家照顧奶奶。但她叫我不用擔心，說一定會沒事，而我只需要照顧好自己。現在，她仍在康復中，已經可以在別人的攙扶下行走。這就是為什麼當我在照片中看到這一幕時向自己保證，在一切太晚之前，我一定會回到家鄉，再次緊握奶奶的手。
LET ME HOLD YOUR HAND. This photo was taken one weekend at the park in front of Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall. It was really heartwarming to see that a lot of families in Taiwan gather during the weekends to spend time with each other. Then, I saw this moment in the photo where a young woman is holding her grandma’s hand while they walk along. When I first flew to Taiwan almost 7 years ago, I still remember my grandma said to me “Mag-isa ka lang doon, kaya aalagaan mong mabuti ang sarili mo. Lagi kitang ipagdadasal.” (“You’ll be alone there so you should always take care of yourself, I will always pray for you”) It was just a simple reminder but it was so deep because it came from someone who took care of me while growing up. That year when I left the Philippines, my grandma can still walk very well and can still do some simple household chores. Until one day, when she accidentally slipped and broke her hip bones. I can’t stop my tears when I saw her sitting on a wheelchair or when she was crying in pain every time they have to move her from the wheelchair to the bed. At that time, I was really eager to leave Taiwan, just go home and take care of my grandmother. But she insisted not to worry about her, that she’ll be okay and that I need to take care of myself. Now, she is still recovering and can walk with a support. That is why when I saw this moment in the photo, I promised to my self, someday I will go home and hold my grandmother’s hands again, before it’s too late.
