Medieval hell images are just wonderfully chaotic, whilst everyone looks so serene. The purple demon is called Maurice, he was going to be brown, but he spoke up and voiced his desire to be fabulously purple.

I work entirely with medieval techniques and materials, specifically that of opus anglicanum because I enjoy the sophisticated play of light and silk. I'm drawn to the humour of the medieval world, and express the commonality of the human experience by twisting the medieval imagery into something new, I'm drawn to the rich vein of filth in medieval art.
