Jacqueline Primeau is a painter and a poet who lives in Vancouver, BC. She paints landscapes and mixed-media paintings in an expressionistic abstract or semi-abstract style. For her, painting is poetic expression. Her painting process is exploratory and intuitive. In her mixed-media paintings she uses acrylic paint and a variety of collage materials. She has a BFA from Concordia University in Montreal. Jacqueline identifies as Metis. In her abstract mixed-media paintings, she wants the painting to be enigmatic and uplifting. A recurring theme in many of her paintings is ""The Unknown and Uncertainty"".
STATEMENT: ""I chose these three mixed-media paintings to submit to the Shades of Fall exhibition because they express the emotions of fall. There’s a certain kind of sadness to fall. It’s a season of spectacular transformation - all the leaves are dying and falling off the trees. There's a haunting sense of mystery in the cool crisp air. I tried to capture these emotions in 'The Doors ', Wandering' and 'Sorrow'.
