For many years cancer patients were called survivors the minute we were diagnosed. But I never liked that word and always used the word Thriver because we do much more than just survive during and after surgery/treatment. Many cancer patients, including myself, are now living beyond the normal life expectancy and beating the odds by Thriving. This piece of artwork depicts with spilt red wine and ink patterns the DNA we each carry that is woven together under the microscope through research in Unity. It pays tribute to those Thrivers we lost and those living today seeking the Key to the Cure together as one body, one blood.
