VCD Final Presentation Board , 2023

The client, Déjà Vu Recycle Store, hopes to expand its philosophy offshore as and open their first international location within the bustling cultural heart of Carlton, Melbourne. Finding the unhurried suburb, a reprise from the consumerist and capitalist metropolis of our time, Melbourne’s position as a global frontrunner of its support of independent bookstores may aid their integration into a foreign city as well as being in alignment with their core values. With the addition of a coffee window and a cut to the recycled garments program in consideration to cost and licensing, they attempt to bring forth their sustainable vision, unique aesthetic, and an original take on the local coffee culture, to the foreign city. The client requires a design for their storefront, which will be repurposed from the original building, and a coffee window to its side, both of which must incorporate the client’s brand image and aesthetic in a prominent, recognisable, and social-media-forward fashion, while still allowing for the repurposed structure to retain its inherent Melbournian roots. A poster was commissioned alongside the storefront design, adhering to the same prospect as that of the storefront. The poster will advertise their coffee window, to prospective consumers across Melbourne, while the same graphic will also form a social media advertisement.
