Research in nursing has been around as far back as the profession exists. However, nursing research is not adequately implemented in practice owing to insufficient resources and lack of organizational clout needed to influence decision making. Besides, when it is implemented, it takes on an average 17 years for the research to be put in practice. This results in limited research impact in improving working conditions of nurses and better health outcomes.

NurSearch is a research union that brings together the nursing and research community to create a platform for change. This platform actively protests to empower non-academic actors to consume as well as deploy research more effectively.

The status quo must change. Otherwise, what is the point of spending billions of dollars in research if it does not change nursing health outcomes?
