The skull has always been a recurring element in Ed’s work. He likes to rework it into new shapes often giving it a double meaning.
In this case the vine, a symbol often associated with the meaning of well-being, fertility and joy, and the skull, a universal symbol that represents the cycle of death and rebirth. Two different elements intertwined in a complex balance of shapes, lights and shadows.
