As I escaped from the dark bowels of the cave, the icy blue and cold faded, giving way to light and return to life.
In our time it is incredible to think that in the 17th century, processions and exorcisms were organized to stop the advancing of the glacier that threatened the home of the valley.
Since 1830, the Mer de Glace has lost 2.5km in length and more than 150m in thickness.
