CONSTRUCTION of Friday Mosque in Samarakand, 1480's

Zafarnama manuscript of Sultan Husayn, Fol 360r.
John Work Garrett Library John Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
COMMENT: The proportions are a little askew but the artist has paid particular attention here to the marble-columns, capitals, revetments, engraved marble. Once again, the diversity of the labourers is clearly apparent.
