But, I Ate All My Veggies

Oil on wooden panel

My work is an exploration of the perception of self, the body, and emotions. My paintings explore the colorful chaos of my emotional self, and the distorted perception I have on my own body. Because my work is largely influenced by myself, a lot of the work has my personality and energy implanted in the pieces. That is shown either from the bright color pallets that I use, the loose and free mark making, or my humor. My recent paintings employ finger painting as the main way to show my anxiety, and feelings of dysmorphia of the body. The bright pink and dark purple fleshy colors that I use, and the intentional choice of not including any of my personal features are a way to remove myself even further from the abstracted bodies that I have finger painted with oil paint.
