I’m a Filipino artist who explores themes such as femininity, gender roles, and colonialism through the voice of a Filipino woman. This focus came from seeing the Filipino community struggle to express pride and love for their own culture, and I want to subvert that trend by showing these themes in a more positive, idealized light. I typically favor oil pastels and ink in my works, but I like to explore other mediums to strengthen my knowledge of art techniques.
