Otto Schmidinger

Otto is an artist with more than 40 years’ experience as an illustrator now a full-time painter and teacher.

He has been a finalist in most of Australia’s major art competitions in the last 10 years with varied results.

This acrylic painting is my reaction to the war in Gaza, I have portrayed the bombardment of the city’s buildings and the victims.

People who have been killed are shown in white mirroring the shrouds they are buried in; it also symbolises the way the rest of the world seems to view their worth.
