Installation with two chairs, one table, and video

Since October 7th, 2023, Israel and Palestine are at war with each other. Until today, 896,000 children have been displaced and 14,000 have been killed. Every ten minutes, a child dies. Every 8 seconds a child is being displaced.
Our installation, "8 Seconds," aims to confront the viewer with the harsh reality that the Israeli and Palestinian leaders, who, despite possessing the power to end the violence, choose to look in opposite directions.
The video footage symbolises the moment when a child is forcibly displaced from its home, its sense of normalcy shattered by the violence. The alternation of colour and darkness symbolises the suffering that these children face.
As you watch these faces fade to black, do you feel the weight of displacement on your shoulders? Will you stand up and make a difference for these children?
