As I was walking along the trail in the high fields of the Barnum Creek Nature Reserve, I came upon a very old apple tree covered with red apples. Visually it drew mw in like a magnet! As I looked up at the branches too high for me to reach, I started to daydream ... how old are you?..did someone plant you?...did you grow from a seed blown by the wind?...how many generations have picked your apples, for both a staple and a treat ?
I wondered if perhaps it could be a heritage tree, since the foundation of the old homestead is nearby, but found out it is not. Ah, well I can daydream about the tales it could tell ....
