Co-creation
[21.]

This poster outlines how we are driving radical co-creation of our refreshed medical undergraduate curriculum with students, through a programme of student and faculty training supported by Queen Mary Academy. The poster describes how students and faculty are working together, guided by a co-creation roadmap and supported by a dedicated Co-creation Fellow in a 1-year post. This co-creation project has four basic elements:

1 Co-creation workshops for faculty, covering the key principles and approaches to curriculum co-creation with students, and the benefits and anticipated challenges of their co-creation projects

2. Co-creation workshop for students including giving and receiving constructive feedback [safe communication]; respect and fairness; distributing power; moving away from complaints culture to problem-solving; and clarifying roles and responsibilities

3. 1-year fellowship post for senior faculty to support the project and act as bridge between medical school and the education academy expertise.

4. Evaluation using a mix of quantitative and qualitative approaches, to explore student and faculty experience of the project, how it has supported the co-creation activities, and where improvements might be made.
