Hello my name is Nathan Doty. I am a mixed media artist based in Chicago. Taking inspiration from various artists like Jean Michelle Basquiat and Jasper Johns— within my artistic practice I tend to utilize abstract and symbolic visuals to showcase a plethora of stories speaking on topics like self growth, nature, family and the feeling of growing older. I most recently have been using my artistic platform to better articulate some very core memories of mine. As I have grown older I've done my best to properly use my fine arts background to convey my thoughts and emotions from my younger years. Using a pop art inspired visual style, I have been using various different mediums to make a digital collage series that really focuses on how I perceive my adolescence now as a fully functioning adult. My work has been displayed in various art galleries and museums most notably being the Denver Museum of Art in Colorado, the Jackson Junge Gallery in Chicago, as well as multiple galleries on the campus of Columbia College Chicago.
