Pride is deeply imbedded in the flower of the daffodil. It is the national flower of Wales and the symbol of cancer charities. For me it has a deeply imbedded personal significance, the daffodil was one of my late mothers favourite flowers and it is somthing I hope will feature at myself and Jazs wedding in mums memory.

Outside of this its also used as holocaust memorial because of its star like shape, like the star of David. There is a lot of varied cultural symbolism in both East and West. They have been used in art as far back as Ancient Egypt and appear in the frescoes at Pompeii They make frequent appearances in classical literature and the Quran where it serves as a mirror of inner beauty. In the bible Solomon's bride says that she is "the Rose of Sharon" (which is to say, she is a daffodil – although this is disputed translation)
