An interior scene of a retirement home, inspired by Edouard Vuillard’s interior scenes and the series of paintings (‘Everywhere at the End of Time’) by Ivan Seal. The etching represents the elderly, left by their caretakers alone in retirement homes- forgetting their own memories, and forgotten by ones they love. Line and tone accentuate the concept explored: denser, bolder, and fluid lines surround the figure, becoming gradually less so further away - a parallel of a patient’s memory loss.
