Night Shift , 2024
55 x 39 cm (h x w)
300 GBP
acrylic on paper

This painting is inspired by the changes happening in Birmingham. A bankrupt council that is planning to dim the lights to save money, old hubs of the community being earmarked for demolition by developers, culture and creativity being defunded, the painting represents a darkness descending on the city, ghosts of buildings and glimmers of light and hope fading.
