A portrait of meteorologist and banjoist Leonard Hussey, of Shackleton's 1914 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. The style of this painting is an homage to Frans Hals' 1623 painting The Lute Player, and references footage of Hussey playing his banjo in Frank Hurley's 1919 film South.

Meg Randall is an English-Canadian illustrator and background artist whose pastimes involve being a historical hobbyist and a silly person. She has found herself swept up in the icy grasp of polar peril since 2023, and maintains a particular affection for and fascination with the story of the Endurance and its crew.
