At Bonavista's beacon, a lighthouse sentinel stands tall,
Guiding sailors through storms where wild Atlantic winds enthrall.
Cliffs and rocks echo tales of seafarers led safely in through the night,
The winds keep the seagulls circling in their flight.

This painting was executed on raw un-stretched cotton duck canvas affixed to my studio wall at Pouch Cove Foundation in Newfoundland. The iconic Cape Bonavista lighthouse, a floating rock encircled by seagulls and flying a Canadian flag. Two yellow Muskoka chairs offer rest for the weary, with the storm dwarfed trees of green. A combination of fluid, heavy body and gouache acrylics were employed in achieving a velvet-like and powdery texture on raw canvas.
