Camila Rice-Aguilar (United States-Nicaragua) represents article 14 UDHR. She is a Communications Associate at Human Rights First, is dedicated to assisting asylum seekers residing in the greater Washington D.C., New York City, and Los Angeles metropolitan areas who lack legal representation.
Her upbringing in both Nicaragua and the U.S. ignited her passion for advocating international human rights, immigrant rights, and environmental justice. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in international relations and Latin American and Caribbean Studies with Honors from Brown University. Her thesis, which focuses on the Central American Migrant Trail, aims to address the root causes of migration to alleviate human rights abuses against transit migrants and mitigate forced displacement in the region.
