I took this image during a photographic project in the 'Puna' region of north-west Argentina in July 2022. Parts of the Campo de Piedra Pomez have been eroded into sweeping formations that give the impression of an ocean of waves, the bows of boats, or sometimes even the topping of a baked meringue pie! As I took this image at sunset looking down over the pumice field, I felt that I was lost in a vast sea. 1/120 sec at f/1.5.
