reese Kimmons, who is now 28 years old, enlisted in the army immediately after high school. She was deployed twice, first from 2005 to 2006 and then from 2007 to 2008, serving in Iraq. Despite not initially intending to be a "weekend warrior," Treese desired to fully immerse herself in military life. Assigned to the unit of supply and armor, she quickly confronted the harsh realities of combat when she was shot at on her first day. The gravity of her situation became painfully clear as she witnessed the loss of nine lives during her deployments.

Upon her discharge from the army, Treese faced the abrupt transition to adulthood, which proved challenging for someone accustomed to being told what to do. Coping with the responsibilities of adult life became overwhelming, exacerbated by the lingering effects of severe PTSD.
